Google Pixel XE – Things You May Want To Know

This year has been good for the Google Pixel lineup, as it has seen the launch of the Pixel 4A, Pixel 4A 5G, and Pixel 5. It’s been rumored that Google may even launch the Pixel 5 Pro in March next year.

Quite recently, we have heard a new rumor which suggests that a new phone – known as the Pixel XE – may be launched anytime soon. But the problem is the doubted legitimacy of this rumor.

The first clue that this phone might hit the market comes from the About menu of an Android phone. The name Google Pixel XE was mentioned twice in this menu. Although you can change the name of the phone to whatever you want, the same is not possible with the model of the phone.

On the top right corner of this menu is a list that suggests this phone is going to have eight cores, meaning that this phone is not going to be a cheap handset. It will undoubtedly be more expensive compared to the Pixel 4A. The phone displaying this information runs Android 11, which means that only a handful of smartphones may have access to this information. All this shows that the information in this screenshot is legit, and it hasn’t been edited.

SlashLeaks has also released a set of images in which a blurry phone showing the name Google Pixel XE in the left bottom of the screen. This image doesn’t show anything else. So, the credibility of this photo may be questionable, even though the screenshot doesn’t look edited.

As mentioned above, the name of the phone can be anything. The images released by SlashLeaks prove nothing, and the fact that there is no model number to see makes the source of this information even more questionable.

The front camera of the proposed phone is in the center, while the recent Pixel phones have front cameras on the top left side of the screen. In the close-up image, you may see the Pixel launcher icons, but there is no camera in the picture. These contradictory images may lead you to wonder whether these are of the same phone.

That said, the leaks of any upcoming phone may not be accurate. They are leaks, not the official statements. Nonetheless, leakers do have resources to get credible information out before companies even say something about the launch.

In this particular case, it is hard to verify where the images came from and who is responsible, so there is no way we can say anything about the trustworthiness of these screenshots. While looking at these images, you have every reason to be suspicious about the credibility of this piece of information. We even doubt if Google Pixel XE is a real handset. So, the best way is to wait for a more credible piece of evidence.
